Now that the weather is turning cool, it’s time to start catching up on your reading and taking a few self-improvement classes. For some of us, that means finally learning to play a musical instrument. We’ve had a ukulele gathering dust in the corner for a while, so we’re finally going to head to Old Town School of Folk Music and hit up some of their classes. But this season, we’re also planning on checking...

Chicagoist has shit luck when it comes to discovering things just as we're moving. Like years ago when we did a short stint in California and discovered the best burrito house on the beach just a week before we were to move across the country. So it was no surprise, given that we'll be moving out of the East Village in a couple weeks, that we just now discovered how fabulous El Barco Mariscos...

Ready for a Silver Line? The CTA is chopping off the Cermak Branch from the Blue Line and will be calling it something else, tentatively the "Silver Line," starting this summer. It's hard to describe what they're doing with words, we've gotten all confused trying to figure it out, but we think we finally have this graphic right. So just look at it to see the changes.

The owner of My Bar has extended our drinking special because he knows how much Chicagoist and its readers love to drink. Now $20 will get you all you can drink (beer and well drinks) from 9pm - midnight tonight. Come out and watch Chicagoist try not to make fools of ourselves (we tend to sing quite a lot when intoxicated, come out to point and laugh!). We'll also be announcing the winners of the Land of Lincoln Photo Contest and the Inside Deep Throat Contest and handing out prizes. Be there to win! And if you're not entered into any of the contests, then be there to drink! We'll be in the back room and would love to meet you!

It's only Monday morning but if you're like Chicagoist you're already making plans for when the whistle blows on Friday night. May we suggest going out and grabbing some dinner and then heading over to the late Chicagoist Happy Hour? Reasons to go -

Shake off the winter blahs by coming out next Friday and having a few drinks with Chicagoist! We're holding our 2nd? 3rd? happy hour at My Bar on Ashland Ave. on March 25th, starting at 9. A bit late for a happy hour you say? Well, it's always happy hour somewhere! AND we've arranged with our buddy Brian, who owns the bar, to get a special Chicagoist drink deal. $20 will getcha all you can drink (wells & beer, no shots) from 9pm - 11pm. Make sure you build a base beforehand because this could get crazy!
