Que For The Choir Benefit Pairs Rock And BBQ
Last September's tour accident that left the Scotland Yard Gospel Choir gearless and with significant medical debt has brought together the city's local musicians and fans through countless unique and proactive benefits. The Scotland Yard Gospel Choir united the Chicago music scene through their passion, humble demeanor and ambitious spirit. And with respect, we've just wanted to channel those same ideals towards helping the band get back to doing what they were born to do, as soon as possible.
Last Second Plans: Coach House Sounds Launch Party And SYGC Benefit
We've been longtime fans of French renegade concert purveyors La Blogotheque who host intimate performances of indie artists in unexpected locales worldwide, videotape them, and publish them on their blog. There's been a host of sites that have followed similar suit, each with their own slightly different take on the concept. Thanks to Matt Baron and the Lakeview coach house he calls home and stage, Chicago now has its very own intimate series. Titled Coach House Sounds, Baron's site features half hour sessions with musicians from all over and unlike similar series' singular focus on indie rock, CHS will encompass a wide range of music including jazz, ambient and classical genres.

Dill PIckle Co-Op plans are ambitious: they'll be stocking fresh, local organic produce and claim to have one of the largest bulk food sections in the city.

If you find yourself gorging on the "Hatebeak" or "Goblin Cock" this evening, please tip better than you usually do. Just in time for Hanukkah, local food writer Leah Zeldes will give a...
