When we last checked in with Steve Gadlin, he was riding high off a fresh wave of Groupon-induced cat drawings. Gadlin, creator and sketcher-in-chief of IWantToDrawACatForYou.com, has now turned his attention away from felines, and toward game shows.

Rad Stuff This Week: Comedy Edition
Rad comedy events around town this week we think you should consider checking out. Let's get with the ha-ha!
Impress These Apes Back For A Summer Run
Our favorite eight-week talent competition judged by apes from the distant future is back and ready for a big summer run. Impress These Apes, one of the most consistently funny shows we regularly frequent, pits eight contestants against each other, trying to, well, impress the apes and be declared "Least Pitiful Human." Each week brings a difficult challenge and this year is sure to be no different. Before tonight's big debut - in which contestants had to create an anti-comedy routine to impress the apes and Andy Kaufmann's sister Carol Kerman - be sure to first catch up with this year's contestants, and their audition call-backs in which they had to spin a tall tale. While the contestants are talented, many times funny, sometimes zany, and always crazy, the highlights come from the banter amongst the Apes themselves as well as the contestants. Never dull, the show is worth catching, if not for just one night, then every night of its eight week run.
Last Second NYE Plans: Chuckle Bowl
If you're like us (and by "us" I actually mean "me") and have no solid New Year's Eve plans for tonight, we'd like to suggest tonight's third annual Chuckle Bowl. In conjunction with the Lincoln Lodge and Tight Five Productions, the fine folks at Blewt! (who are responsible for Impress These Apes) bring us a fine evening of comedy, bowling, and fun. The fun happens at Lincoln Square Lanes and besides free pizza and a fully-stocked bar (with specials like $3 domestic beer and $4 shots), all 12 lanes will be open for bowling with video screens showcasing some hilarious videos and short films and music from DJ “Bubbles Sanchez.” But perhaps the best thing about this shindig will be the one-night-only revival of the live-action game show Don't Spit The Water.
Don't Spit the Water's Last-Ever Show
The show is at the Playground Theater at 10pm, and tickets are $15.
