The Morning After: Rose Leads Bulls To Victory

The Morning After: Rose Leads Bulls To Victory

The Bulls have been able to put that behind-the-scenes nastiness behind them and now have the inside track to be the first round victims of LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers after they edged the Celtics 101-93. Down by eight early in the second quarter, a big 18-2 run flipped the scoreboard and put the Bulls ahead. Of courser, the Celtics wouldn't go easily and fought back in the second half. But the Bulls held off the run, led by Derrick Rose who dropped 39 points on Boston and Kirk Hinrich who had 30. The highlight of the game, though? Rasheed Wallace, scoring on his own basket. more ›

Morning Box Score: Jays Sweep Sox

Morning Box Score: Jays Sweep Sox

The White Sox lost a close one to the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday by the score of 3-2, giving the Jays a four-game series sweep. Recent rotation addition Clayton Richard did his best on the mound, allowing only three hits and one earned run over seven innings. The earned run came in the second when Kevin Millar launch a big fly to left, and was followed by an unearned run in the third as Marco Scutaro scored after making it all the way to third on a fielding gaffe by Scott Podsednik. Toronto preserved their 2-0 lead until Jim Thome went yard in the eighth, plating Jermaine Dye and tying the game at two. Much to Chicago's dismay, the deadlock did not last long. With a runner on third and two out in the bottom of the inning, the Jays' Alex Rios drove a fastball to shallow left-center, giving Podsednik a chance at redemption. Podsednik made a valiant diving effort but couldn't get to the ball before it hit the turf, bouncing to the warning track while the winning run came across for Toronto. The loss marked the end of a 1-6 roadtrip for the White Sox, who are hoping tonight's return to the Cell will help reverse their fortunes. more ›

Arms Race

With baseball's Winter Meetings now underway in Orlando, baseball's hot stove is heating up. Both Chicago clubs are at the center of many rumors, as pitching has been the clear focus of this offseason for most teams. All Star Game Recap

Should the White Sox again find themselves in the World Series this October -- and why shouldn't they? -- they now know they'll have home field advantage, on account of the American League's 3-2 victory in last night's All Star Game. It didn't look quite so promising for a while, however. more ›
