Police yesterday responded to a bomb scare around LaSalle and Division. An unattended suitcase was found in the area around 5:15 p.m. Benjy took these shots about an hour later when the bus he was on ignored the roped off area and pushed through the route.
Suspicious Package Found On Red Line Just A Pipe
Between Times Square being closed yesterday due to a pipe bomb that was found inside a vehicle and yesterday's United flight from Chicago to Philadelphia that contained a "suspicious message" found on board, it seems only logical that another terrorist scare would pop up to round out the weekend. This time, a suspicious package that was found on a Red Line train Saturday night--which resulted in all lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway and Red Line trains being shut down for two hours--ended up being a pipe that had been left behind.
