Tomorrow Never Knows brought the talents of Bradford Cox (Deerhunter) under the guise of his solo project, Atlas Sound, back to Chicago for the second time in three months. Local acts Shapers and Icy Demons kicked off the evening with enthusiasm, eager to spread their respective sounds to fans old and new. Shapers offered well-orchestrated noise that shined live and the Icy Demons countered with bright, keyboard-focused melodies that could have been the soundtrack to any one of our childhood skateboard adventures. What do you do when an album you've recorded gets leaked online just after it's mastered and three months before it's scheduled to hit the shelves? Most bands would either move the release date up or just say "fuck it" and hope touring revenue makes up for any lost sales.
