The EP — the second-ever by the band — featured an A-side instrumental track "2120 South Michigan Avenue," the title an homage to the record labels and their studios where the Stones recorded. more ›

One for the Road: The Pharaohs

The Pharaohs were one of the forgotten treasures of local R&B. A merger of the Jazzmen, a student group formed at Crane Junior College, and the Artistic Heritage Ensemble, the Pharaohs' lineup included noted session horn player Don Myrick, former Chess session musicians Louis Satterfield, Charles Handy and Maurice White.
