We'll admit it, one of our guilty pleasures is watching Garrard McClendon on CLTV. Sure, we don't know what the hell he's talking about half the time, but for some reason his unapologetic enthusiasm, his gaze of concentration at the camera while he listens to a caller, those nutball callers themselves, it makes it hard for us to look away.

Renowned Local Reporter Carlos Hernandez Gomez Passes Away
Chicago lost another excellent journalist last night as Carlos Hernandez Gomez passed away from complications due to a long bout with cancer at the all-too-young age of 36. Gomez was best known as a political reporter with CLTV and WBEZ, where he won an Edward R. Murrow Award for his report, "Legend of the Billy Goat Curse." Gomez also worked for The Chicago Reporter and Los Angeles' Spanish language daily La Opinion. Listeners of WBEZ may also remember his unique sign-off as well as his fedora and penchant for being particularly tough on local politicians.
Cheeseburger in Paradise
Tribune reporter, stuntman of local food writers, expert on fish tacos and "cheeseburger bureau chief" Kevin Pang posted a preview of his new project chronicling where to get the best cheeseburgers in town. "The Cheeseburger Show," debuting April 16, will air six times a week on CLTV, in HD online at the not-yet-launched www.cheeseburgershow.com, and be available as a download at iTunes. Pang also said that the program may also air as a segment on WGN News.
