Morning Box Score: Humber Humbles Yanks, Cubs Can't Field Rockies

The conditions for baseball were not ideal at Wrigley Field last night. The Cubs played as though the ball was coated in grease in committing four errors -- three by Starlin Castro -- in a 5-3 loss to the Colorado Rockies. Matt Garza is still looking for his first win of the season and committed the throwing error that broke a 3-3 tie in the fifth inning. The Cubs lineup didn't give Garza much support, hitting 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position. Kosuke Fukudome rapped out five hits on the night and Darwin Barney hit his first home run of the season. more ›

After completing a career year where he played six different positions, belted 21 home runs, and drove in 87 RBIs, the Chicago Cubs rewarded Mark DeRosa by trading him to the Cleveland Indians. The Cubs will receive a trio of minor league pitchers: Jeff Stevens, Chris Archer and John Gaub. DeRosa will likely play third base for the Indians. The Cubs replaced DeRosa with another utility infielder by signing free agent Aaron Miles to a two-year deal. Also in the works is a possible trade of Jason Marquis to the Rockies in exchange for Luis Vizcaino; rumors claim the Cubs are also interested in signing free agent Milton Bradley. Yes, because what this team needs is the stability of Milton Bradley. more ›

Last night, Carlos Zambrano got rocked for seven runs over 5.2 innings as the Astros... more ›
