In honor of our unofficial national holiday of drinking, St. Patrick's Day, we thought we'd peruse Men'sHealth Magazine's recent list of America's Drunkest Cities. Top of the list? Denver, followed by Anchorage, Colorado Springs, Omaha and Fargo. Our neighbors to the north in Milwaukee come in at #10. Our fair city comes in at 39th overall, 13th in binge drinking, and 17th in DUI arrests. At least, we think so, as their method of ranking seems kind of convoluted. The magazine provides their methods of figuring out the rankings, though there's no mention of how the performance of a city's professional sports teams affect the rankings.

The DePaul Blue Demons (20-13) are flying high after defeating Kansas State 70-65 last night in the second round of the NIT tournament. Unlike sledding, which generally leaves us cranky at the cold reality of snow forcing itself into every possible crevice in our foolproof apparel defenses against it, we like ice skating. We like getting in the way of people who are really good at it because we're gawking at them with starry eyes. We like the sound it makes. We like watching skating of the figure variety on TV.
For the second year in a row Chicago ranked America's 5th fattest city in a survey by Men's Fitness magazine. This year Houston ranked the fattest, beating out last year's fattest, Detroit. This is the 4th time in 5 years that Houston was ranked fattest. And the fittest? Seattle, then Honolulu, then Colorado Springs.
