Day Two has come and gone. We thought that maybe we were slacking today, since we only traversed the magnificent mile four times instead of yesterday's seven, but it seems that we took a lot more pictures. Today's bands didn't disappoint, from Wolfmother to Living Things and, not even mentioning, Sonic Youth or The Go! Team. And, all we have to say about The Flaming Lips is - WOW! Whew!
Chicagoist awakened Sunday morning to grey skies and rain. Luckily, Day Two of the Intonation Music Festival was anything but dreary. Following are some recaps of the performances that we liked best (and, boy, narrowing that down was a hard decision). Before the clouds even had a chance to dissipate, we were blown away by the Tyrades. Finally, a pure and simple punk band. We loved Jenna Tyrade's screams and the whole band's assaultive attitude....

We were most impressed by Tyrades, Rhymefest, Jon Brion, and Dead Prez (though we gave thumbs up to almost everyone). We're a little sunburned, a little dehydrated and sort of exhausted because Chicagoist was there as Lollapalooza 2005 rocked Chicago this weekend. Organizers needed to prove that Lolla was still a viable commerical entity with acts like Pixies, The Killers, Arcade Fire, Death Cab For Cutie and more. While they accomplished that feat, it remains to be seen what the future holds for the festival. We'll be posting reviews later today but until then check...
Pitchfork Media's Intonation Music Festival 2005 took place this past weekend and Chicagoist was there from start to finish. The organizers of Intonation proved it's possible to put on a safe and enjoyable destination music festival that stays true to its audience and reflects the city of Chicago's rock community. We'll be posting a write-up of the fest later today but for now enjoy our Flickr photosets of Day One and Day Two or check...
