Grisly Night On The Southwest Side
A pair of crime scenes on the Southwest Side has left a body count of six for police to investigate. The first was in the city's West Elsdon neighborhood. Three people are dead in what police are calling a double murder-suicide shooting that occurred last night in the 4200 block of West 55th Street. Police suspect a woman and another man were shot dead by the woman's estranged husband who then killed himself. It's at least the city's third multiple victim domestic-related incident in the last month, coming just weeks after a domestic-related incident left five dead in Marquette Park and a murder-suicide at th Loop Old Navy store left two dead.

Guitar Hero Can't Change Police Report
Gary Skoien, former Cook County GOP Chairman (and current Palatine Township GOP committeeman), will not be allowed to alter the original police report that says his wife became angry when she discovered that "Gary was downstairs in the children's playroom with two prostitutes." Eni Skoien is being charged with domestic battery after beating her husband with her fists and a toy guitar. According to police, Skoien told the responding officer that he had prostitutes with him. Skoien denied this claim and insisted he was speaking with "friends" when his wife "heard talking and went crazy." He told WLS-AM yesterday that he planned to change the police report and that "If they were prostitutes, I would've lied. I would never tell the police there were prostitutes in my house."
Gary Skoien Brings New Meaning to "Guitar Hero"
Strange happenings in Inverness. Depending on who you believe, former Cook County GOP Chairman (and current Palatine Township GOP committeeman) Gary Skoien was caught with two prostitutes in his children's playroom , prompting his wife to beat him up with her fists and a guitar. But now Skoien is disputing some of those claims made in the police report. He said he was talking with a friend, not prostitutes, and that they were talking around 1 a.m. when he was attacked by his wife Eni. All 110 pounds of her. Skoien told the Daily Herald, "She heard talking and went crazy. Toy guitar understates it. I thought I was going to die." He added, "No money was exchanged. Nobody was naked."
Charges Made In Henry Killings
Frederick Goings, ex-boyfriend of Nova Henry, has officially been charged with two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of Henry and her infant daughter Ava. Goings has been the prime suspect in the killings since they happened as reports surfaced that the two had a volatile relationship: Henry had previously taken out an order of protection against Goings and the two allegedly had an argument the day of the murders. Henry's three-year-old son, Noah, who was found unharmed in Henry's apartment with his mother's and sister's body had reportedly told members, "Fred did it." Goings and Henry first met when Goings represented Henry in a paternity suit against former Bull Eddy Curry, who is the father of both of Henry's children. Curry was not considered a suspect and authorities said he's been fully cooperative in their investigation. As for Noah, he remains in the custody of his grandmother.

City to Merge Office of Domestic Violence?
Battered women's activists, already facing cuts in federal funding to domestic-violence services, are opposing a Daley-backed plan to consolidate the city's Office of Domestic Violence into an enlarged Human Services Department. Daley wants to fold social services, prisoner re-entry and homeless assistance programs into a single city department, arguing last week that there is "considerable overlap" among social service programs. "This consolidation will help the city provide a more holistic, client-centered approach to the services we provide to our most vulnerable residents," he told the Sun Times.
Drew Peterson: I'm Not Afraid of Law Enforcement
Drew Peterson was on the Today Show this morning, chatting with Matt Lauer about his wife Stacy's disappearance and his former wife Kathleen Savio's exhumation. (Anyone know how to embed that video?) "I can look you right in the eye and tell you I had nothing to do with either of those instances. I’m not afraid of law enforcement. I’m afraid of the media," he said. Maybe because he works in law enforcement, and Savio's...
