This was the marquee game on yesterday's NBA slate and, except for the Bulls losing, it didn't disappoint.
Morning Box Score: Bulls Hang With Miami, Can't Douse Heat
Playoff Box Score: Bulls Collapse Ends Season
Last night's collapse was like a swift kick in the nuts.
Playoff Box Score: Bulls Down 3-1 To Heat
The Bulls picked a fine time for their first three-game losing streak of the season, and it's put them on the brink of elimination.
Playoff Box Score: Bulls Fall Again
Once again, the Heat's defense made the Bulls fight for every shot.
Playoff Box Score: Heat "D" Evens Series
You didn't really think these Eastern Conference finals were going to be a cakewalk for the Bulls did you? After a commanding Bulls victory in the series' opener, the Miami Heat bounced back and played much like Chicago did in game one. While the Bulls hung in there for most of the game, in the end Miami's defense was too much and the Bulls fell to the Heat 85-75 on Wednesday night.
Mare Bear Says "Beat the Heat"
Mare Bear's back and she's not happy with LeBron, D. Wade or anyone else on "Mi-A-mi." Comparing Chris Bosh to an ostrich is a nice touch. In fact she's so angry that we fear she may hit the court tonight.
Playoff Box Score: Bulls Make Statement Against Heat
It did not matter that the Bulls had the NBA's best record or the top seed in the playoffs, most believed that the Miami Heat were the favorites in the Eastern Conference finals. They believed that their two superstars could dominate a game better than a complete team could work together to beat them. Last night the Bulls proved the power of teamwork as they destroyed the Heat 103-82 to take a 1-0 series lead.
The Heat Is On: Eastern Conference Finals Preview
As ESPN continues to squeeze in a montage of the Bulls’ season sweep against the Miami Heat every so often, a basketball fan living in Chicago couldn’t be anything but pumped for Sunday’s match-up. However, this basketball fan has to keep in mind some of the simple slip-ups the Bulls have had during the playoffs and their razor-thin margins in the regular season against Miami.
Afternoon Box Score: Bulls Sweep Heat
The Bulls may have been among the also-rans in the hunt for LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh during the offseason. But the money they saved in not signing any of them has proven to be put to good use in building an overall deeper team that now sits in sole possession of second place in the Eastern Conference after their 87-86 win over the Heat in Miami. The Bulls 3-0 head-to-head record against the Heat is also their first regular season sweep against Miami since the 1991-92 season.
Morning Box Score: With LeBron in Lineup, Bulls Beat Heat
Last time the Miami Heat came to town, Dwyane Wade and Derrick Rose had a shootout for the ages, but an asterisk was put on the Bulls win by some as LeBron James didn't suit up for the game. King James took the court last night, in a matchup of the two leading candidates for NBA MVP in himself and Rose. The result was the same, as the Bulls held the Heat to 36 second-half points and Luol Deng hit the winning trey for a 93-89 win.
D-Rose, D-Wade Join Forces in All-Star Game
With his low-key, humble persona, Bulls All-Star Derrick Rose will be put to the test and have to jump off his Chicago home-town hero pedestal as he competes with the best of the best in the NBA All-Star game, including fellow Chicagoan Dwyane Wade.
Closing Arguments In Dwyane Wade Custody Case Reveal His Sons To Be The Real Victims
On Friday, the closing arguments in NBA star Dwyane Wade's child custody trial played out in the Cook County Circuit Court, putting an end to the bitter battle over Wade and his ex-wife Siohvaughn Wade's two sons, 8-year-old Zaire and 2-year-old Zion, who are caught in-between both of their parents. And that "is just the saddest thing," Cook County Circuit Court Judge Renee Goldfarb said, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, after the closing arguments.
Morning Box Score: Rose Outduels Wade, Hawks Fall in Shootout
Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat couldn't keep up with Derrick Rose and his Bulls, but at Carlos Boozers expense? The Blackhawks didn't fair so well as they fell to Nashville in a shootout.
Competition Heating Up as Bulls Host Miami
If you can’t take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. The Miami Heat have beaten the Bulls twice in a row, and have taken seven of the last nine meetings. Does this mean the Bulls will be kicked out of their own ‘kitchen’?
Monday Morning Motivation: Dwyane Wade Is Better Than Children At Basketball
And we thought WGN's Pat Tomasulo had cornered the market on crushing the athletic dreams of small children. This video from the weekend's World Basketball Fest told us what we already knew: D-Wade is really good at basketball and better at it than a bunch of kids. In six months, this video could easily double for highlights of a Heat-Nets game. [via Deadspin]
After Missing Out on LeBron, Bulls Try To Move On
After months of speculation and weeks of building hype, LeBron James finally announced his "Decision" on an hour-long show on ESPN last night. By picking the Miami Heat, he chose to team up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh and spurned his other suitors -- including the Bulls. Once again, the Bulls thought they could lure the top free agents to town. Once again, they came up short against the Sunshine state. This time it's LBJ, CB4 and D-Wade in Miami instead of T-Mac and Grant Hill in Orlando.
The Ego Has Landed: LeBron To Heat
The Drive. The Fumble. The Shot. Game 7 of the 1997 World Series. And now, The Decision.
LeBron To Heat?
The rumors from overnight and into the morning do not bode well for Bulls fans hanging on to hopes that LeBron James might join Carlos Boozer in Chicago. In fact, things do not bode well for Cleveland, either, and tonight's hour-long tribute to LeBron's ego (which has taken to Twitter) may also be an opportunity to watch the decimation of the collective psyche of an entire fanbase on national television. Published reports from overnight - the Cleveland Plain Dealer, NY Newsday, and, yes, ESPN - all say it's looking more and more like LeBron will join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami where the Heat will then presumably only be able to pay former members of the Washington Generals to fill out the remaining roster spots. LeBron would also be taking less cash as a deal with the Heat would be in the five-year, $90 million range if the available cap space was split equally amongst the big three but Florida's lack of state income tax would eventually make up the difference.
LeBron, ESPN Reach New Synergistic Low; Bosh And Wade Reportedly Team Up In Miami
While details are still being hammered out, it looks like LeBron James will reportedly take to the airwaves on ESPN to announce where he'll sign for the 2010-2011 season (and beyond) in a one-hour special tomorrow night. It seems in line with the kind of sensationalist coverage ESPN is becoming known for. After all, this is a network that's known for televising the press conferences where 17- and 18-year-old kids announce what colleges they'll play football for. Why should the biggest basketball player on the planet be any different? That said, it seems rather egomaniacal to set aside a whole hour on a major network just to announce where you plan to play basketball and isn't exactly worthy of a player who has zero championships. Say what you will about Jordan, his borderline psychotic competitive edge, and his equally intense grudge holding, he needed only a two-word press release to announce the biggest out-of-retirement comeback of all time. And spare us the "Oh, it's for charity" angle. This is ego-driven, pure and simple.
Bulls Prep For Free Agent Push
With contradicting media reports flying all over the place helter-skelter and speculation about whether or not there was a Free Agent Summit over the weekend, we're finally getting down to business in the biggest NBA free agent class ever. In just a hair over 10 hours - at 11:01 p.m. Chicago time - teams will be free to contact NBA free agents, including LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade, Joe Johnson, and Dirk Nowitzki (plus several others). While no contracts can be signed until July 8, there will still be plenty of action. All eyes will be on Ohio where LeBron James will entertain reps from just about every team that has the cash to woo the (still title-less) superstar. Both the Knicks and the Nets are expected to meet with him on Thursday. As for the Bulls, there's no timetable for their visit yet, but a report from ESPN today claims the Bulls' delegation will include everyone at the top of the organization: Jerry Reinsdorf as well as coach Tom Thibodeau, general manager Gar Forman, and executive vice president John Paxson (who would do well to wear those three championship rings he won with the Bulls). In case you wanted more speculation and fuel for the rumor-mill fire, ESPN sat down Bill Simmons and Dan LeBatard with Pardon the Interruption's Tony Kornheiser and (Chicago's own) Michael Wilbon for a half-hour of discussion on potential player destinations. While somewhat entertaining, though, the show, like everything else, is pure speculation.
Summer of LeBron Hits Fever Pitch
With the NBA Champs crowned and the college players drafted, it's now on to the main event. The NBA's free agency period begins at midnight on July 1, so with the most anticipated shopping spree in NBA history approaching, the news and rumors are coming fast and furious. And it's only going to build until LeBron, Dwyane Wade et al sign their new deals.
Top NBA Free Agents Plan Summit
Like something of a cross between the Justice League and the Yalta Conference, the NBA's bumper crop of superstar free agents plan to convene a summit prior to the opening of the league's free agency signing period, which could have significant ramification on the future of the NBA's balance of power. For the past couple years, a number of teams (the Bulls included) have been maneuvering to clear salary cap space that would give them the flexibility to go after the historic 2010 free agent class that includes players like LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire and Joe Johnson.

LeBron Wants to Change Jersey to Honor MJ
Are we reading too much into LeBron James' filing of paperwork with the NBA league offices this week? Following through with his previously announced intentions, King James submitted an application to change his jersey number from 23 to 6, wanting the league to honor Michael Jordan by retiring the number league-wide in much the same was that Major League Baseball did for Jackie Robinson. While we don't believe you can really compare Jordan's on-court accomplishments to what Robinson did - breaking his sport's color barrier - we do wonder what LeBron's comments mean in terms of his future.

Bulls Beat Heat, Go Up 2-0
Chicagoist is pretty sure we witnessed the birth of a couple of superstars Tuesday night, as Loul Deng and Ben Gordon teamed up to cool off the Heat once again. With their 107-89 victory Tuesday night, the Bulls took a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.
Nets Drop Bulls, Bulls Drop to Fifth Seed
One night, one game, but three seeds lost on the final night of the NBA's regular season for the Bulls. Heading into the final game, the Bulls had the upper hand in winning the second seed in the Eastern Conference. All they had to do was win. Or Cleveland had to lose. But neither came to fruition.
Bulls Season Preview
The Bulls tricked the Miami Heat and treated their fans to a 42-point blowout of the defending NBA Champs, on the same night the champs hung their banner and received their rings. Is the 108-66 victory a sign of things to come for the Bulls' 2006-2007 season? Maybe... After two straight playoff appearances, but also two straight first-round eliminations, the Bulls are poised to compete for the Eastern Conference title this season. We're not saying...
Heat End Bulls' Season
The Miami Heat, led by the Shaquille O'Neal of old (30 points, 20 rebounds) overwhelmed the Bulls at the UC last night, winning 113-96. We began to appreciate just how well Tyson Chandler played defense against Shaq, before spraining his ankle -- he had another subpar night, playing just 18 minutes as foul trouble again plagued him. Nocioni, Gordon and Hinrich each contributed 20+ points of offense, once again, but it wasn't enough to keep...
Heat Beat Bulls, Take 3-2 Series Lead
While the Bulls' Tyson Chandler played, after suffering a serious-looking ankle sprain in Game 4, he only played 5 minutes. While he said he felt well enough to play, his inability to get into the flow of the game resulted in 5 quick fouls in less than 5 minutes on the court. Hopefully, his ankle will feel better in Game 6. The Heat also face a player dealing with injury. Dwyane Wade went down hard on his hip late in the first half. While he returned and scored 28 points, his hip continues to bother him. He expects to play, but will he suffer the same effects that plagued Chandler? Bulls fans can only hope so.
