Dan McNeil Scores New Radio Show

We had an idea that this would happen when Dan McNeil was canned by ESPN 1000 (WMVP) back in January. And now it's official: Danny Mac will return home to the Score AM 670. Beginning June 15, the former host of ESPN radio's afternoon "Mac, Jurko and Harry Show" will take the air at The Score solo from 9am - 1pm on his new "The Danny Mac Show." McNeil, who earned about $600,000 in his last contract, likely took a big pay cut to get back on the radio. "Everybody takes a haircut in '09," McNeil said.

There's an empty bar stool at the "afternoon saloon." ESPN Radio WMVP (1000 AM) escorted Dan McNeil, host of the afternoon "Mac, Jurko and Harry Show," out the door on Friday and breaking up the team that's been handling afternoons for nearly eight years. The station decided not to pick up the option on his contract, and while he's under contract until May he's been pulled off the air.

Chelsea FC, the 2005 and 2006 English Premier League Champions, will be practicing for their match-up with the MLS All-stars at Toyota Park Friday at 5:30pm.

The Bears came into this weekend with a surprising 6-3 record, which placed them atop the NFC North. But the division and the Bears schedule in general was pretty weak through the first 9 games of the seaon. The Bears wins came against the likes of the New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions. Lots of questions remained about how the team would fare when opposing one of the league's top teams.

Today is a day of significant changes for the Cubs, and it'll be interesting to see which direction the team goes in coming weeks as a result.

Another busy weekend for Chicago sports, so we'll just give you a brief rundown of what's happened since Friday Garland Now 5-0 The White Sox beat Detroit 8-0 on Sunday, lead by Jon Garland's second consecutive 4-hit shutout. The victory improves Garland's record to 5-0 and drops his ERA to 1.38. He's the first pitcher in the AL to 5 wins and his ERA leads the league, as well. Not bad for the Sox's 5th...

Following an escalation of the on-air feud between Dan McNeil of the Mac, Jurko & Harry Show and Jay Mariotti, ESPN Radio 1000 has pulled both radio personalities off the air for Friday's shows to give them each a "breather." The two personalities have been sniping at each other for days over comments McNeil made about a run-in Mariotti had last week with his other feuding partner, White Sox broadcaster Ken "Hawk" Harrelson. Program...
