Last Second Plans: G-Fest XVI

It's Fourth of July weekend but maybe you're not into the patriotic stuff. Sure, you love stuff exploding so the fireworks are cool, but maybe you don't dig all the John Philip Sousa that goes along with it. Or kids in big Uncle Sam hats waving tiny American flags. The sound of Lee Greenwood makes you sick. That's cool. We're not here to judge you. What we're here to do is to point you to the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare for this year's G-Fest.

Lolla Schedule, Single Day Tickets Arrive

We're just a hair over seven weeks from the kick-off of Lollapalooza 2009 but that's plenty of time to figure out your gameplan for criss-crossing Grant Park all weekend to catch the acts you're dying to see. The official schedule is out and ready for your perusal, though at last check it's a bit slow to load as we're sure everyone is already trying to piece together their own personal plans and pondering, "Kings of Leon or Depeche Mode? TV on the Radio or Lykke Li?" And while three-day passes remain on sale at $205 each, you can now score single day passes for the *ahem* low price of $80 per day.

Those $60 Lollapalooza tickets? Gone in a flash. They went on sale on the site sometime around 2 p.m. yesterday afternoon and were gone in less than 15 minutes from what we're told. Not to fret, though. Early Bird tickets to the megafest go on sale on March 31. There's no word on the site how much those tickets will cost; rest assured, though, that that while they'll be a bit more steep than $60, the price only goes up as we get closer to August 7.
