It's been a few weeks since we last took a peek inside the White House courtesy of its awesome Flickr stream.
I'm going to be self-indulgent, but only for a moment. It was two years ago this week (tomorrow, to be exact) that I packed up and left post-apocalyptic New Orleans to pursue life anew here in Chicago. I knew one person when I moved here and was heartbroken to leave the city I had called home for almost five years as well as the South, the part of the country I had known my whole life. But over the last two years, Chicago has not only grown on me, but swallowed me whole. I still miss New Orleans, but Chicago is my home now and these reader-submitted pictures from our Flickr pool capture the spirit and beauty of this city that has beguiled me so much these past couple of years. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Professional indoor lacrosse debuted Saturday night in front of a near-sellout crowd of 8,456 at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates. Two National Lacrosse League (NLL) expansion teams, the New York Titans and the Chicago Shamrox dueled it out in a match that was close until the closing minutes of the game.
