With a team that lost 6 of 7 on their recently concluded "circus trip," shouldn't Bulls management worry about issues of greater importance than headwear?

The Bulls tricked the Miami Heat and treated their fans to a 42-point blowout of the defending NBA Champs, on the same night the champs hung their banner and received their rings. Is the 108-66 victory a sign of things to come for the Bulls' 2006-2007 season? Maybe... After two straight playoff appearances, but also two straight first-round eliminations, the Bulls are poised to compete for the Eastern Conference title this season. We're not saying...

Chicagoist knows it's old news that Ben Wallace agreed to a deal with the Bulls, but we breathed a huge sign of relief today when Wallace officially signed his deal and appeared with Bulls GM John Paxon and coach Scott Skiles. That combination of always fearing the worst we Chicago sports fans suffer, combined with the nearly two week period between when teams and free agents can begin negotiations and when they can sign deals, had us feeling uneasy. Could Big Ben change him mind? Could he decide to stay with the Pistons? Could something go horribly wrong with the estimated salary cap that wouldn't give the Bulls the cap space they anticipated? All these crazy fears ran through our head, along with trying to determine how to snag tickets to the NBA Finals.

Man, what a crazy night at Madison Square Garden for the NBA Draft. As we predicted, there were a flurry of trades -- although mostly just draft picks moving around, along with throw-in future 2nd round picks and the like. The Bulls were among the early traders, drafting Texas' LaMarcus Aldridge, then shipping him to the Portland Trailblazers in return for Tyrus Thomas (picked 4th) and third year player Viktor Khryapa. Later in the...

The Bulls embark on the second half of their season tonight -- well, kind of. It's their first game following the All Star Break, but only 30 games remain in the regular season. With a 23-29 record at the break, the Bulls are currently out of the playoffs picture. However, they're only 2 games behind the 76ers for the 8th seed so a playoff berth isn't impossible. But can their current roster play better over...

Contract negotiations between the Bulls and Eddy Curry had remained at a standstill most of the off-season, as the Bulls requested that Curry take a DNA test before they clear him to play while Curry and his agent refused. With Monday's deadline for signing qualifying contracts for the 05-06 season, the Bulls traded Curry to the Knicks when they couldn't get Curry to agree to the DNA test.

Following last year's surprising playoff run, Bulls GM John Paxon vowed to bring back all of the key componensts. That job was made easier by the fact that only a couple bench players were unrestricted free agents. The rest were either under contract or restricted free agents. For the most part, Paxon has succeeded in signing the guys he wanted back. He signed unrestricted free agent Othella Harrington to a new deal. He matched the...
