The purpose of the annual No Pants Subway Ride is to shock people with the view of participants' pale, prickly winter legs... or something like that.

Improv Everywhere's No Pants Train Fun Rides Again
The folks at Improv Everywhere were back at it yesterday with another edition of their nation-wide No Pants subway ride. And despite the cold, Chicago got in on the act. Enjoy the above photos (via Flickr user Taekwonweirdo) and the below video.
Humpday Diversion: Grocery Store Musical
Those crazy kids of Improv Everywhere are back at, this time bringing the joy of song to a random grocery store. According to the group:
Pantsless CTA Ride Turns Into Pantsless Coffee Run
So we went to check out Saturday's 8th annual No Pants! Subway Ride from Improv Everywhere at the Granville Red Line stop in Edgewater. We were late, but just in time to see everyone fleeing the snow and making their way to a nearby Dunkin Donuts. Instead of the expected pants-less CTA shots, you get pictures of pants-less coffee and donuts. You can find more pictures from the event at the event's Facebook page, and you can find pictures from the event worldwide on Flickr, tagged "nopantsday."
Improv Everywhere's 8th Annual No Pants! Subway Ride This Saturday
This Saturday marks New York City-based Improv Everywhere's 8th Annual No Pants! Subway Ride - part prank, part social experiment where participants gather to ride the subway, sans pants, with straight faces. People from around the globe have been encouraged to organize their own pants-free public transportation ride and lucky for us, it's on. The fun starts at the Granville CTA Red line station (1119 West Granville Avenue) this Saturday at High Noon.
Photos: The Mp3 Experiment
With the rain holding off until twenty minutes before start time, the weather didn't deter the several hundred folks donning their iPods at precisely 2:00 p.m. on Sunday to receive direction from an omnipotent voice as part of Improv Everywhere's Mp3 Experiment. It did, however, cut down on the number of people wandering through Lincoln Park wondering what the hell was going on -- part of the fun -- but that didn't dampen (heh) the enthusiasm of the crowd participating in such things as human Tetris and a final "Epic Battle" involving the pummeling of each other with balloons. Normally we don't take part in such things (the World Pillow Fight Day seemed like our personal Hell), but after yesterday we'll admit that taking part in some silly shenanigans once in a while does improve one's attitude and outlook on life.
Mp3 Experiment Tomorrow
Just a reminder, the Mp3 Experiment we mentioned a few weeks ago is happening tomorrow, October 5th at 2:00 in Lincoln Park, Grove #3 (just south of South Pond). This seems like a fun way to get your kids involved in performance art, unlike say, their previous "No Pants" mission. The event will happen rain or shine, so let's hope the rain predicted holds off until later in the day. Go here for all the details.
Improv Everywhere's Mp3 Experiment Coming to Chicago
Mark your calendars, public art fans: Improv Everywhere is taking its spectacle-making show on the road. The annual "mp3 experiment," in which participants all download the same mp3 and convene to follow its dance-y, peaceful instructions, is coming to town. The Chicago leg of the tour is October 5, place and time TBD. Fun!
No Pants 2K8!
No Pants 2K8, a no-slacks spectacle that was started by the New York-based performance comedy group, Improv Everywhere, is upon us, and you know what that means: Drop trou, pronto!
