The Bulls used a dominating third quarter to earn their second statement game in as many nights and extend their current winning streak to seven games.
Morning Box Score: Bulls Lap Pacers
Morning Box Score: Bulls Suffer First Home Loss
The Bulls saw their four-game winning streak and undefeated record at the United Center come to an end last night at the hands of the Pacers.
Morning Box Score: Bulls Win Preseason Finale, Blackhawks Win Streak Snapped
The Bulls are as ready for their Christmas Day regular season close-up as they're going to get as Rip Hamilton showed why the Bulls signed him in his Bulls debut.
Playoff Box Score: Bulls Move On With 116-89 Win
For four games, Frank Vogel's Indiana Pacers played the Bulls incredibly tight. The Bulls pulled out three close victories before the Pacers team exploited Derrick Rose's ankle sprain to win game four and prevent the sweep. Heading into last night's game Vogel promised, "If we win tonight, we win series." The Bulls made sure that wouldn't happen, blowing out the Pacers 116-89 to close out the series and move on to the second round.
Hawks, Bulls Face Tough Tests Tonight
Our Town's sports radio talking heads have been calling tonight's games involving the Bulls and Blackhawks one of the biggest nights for professional sports in Chicago in recent memory. Both teams can advance in their respective league's playoffs with wins tonight. But while the momentum has swung in the Blackhawks favor in their Stanley Cup playoff series with the Vancouver Canucks, the Bulls look like one of the more vulnerable top seeds we've seen in a while.
'No Excuses': Rose Doesn't Blame Poor Play On Sprained Ankle
"When you twitch your ankle as a guard, the best thing to do is tie up your shoes tight and just keep playing."Spoken like a true All-Star, despite missing a Game 4 sweep of the Indiana Pacers Saturday, Derrick Rose played through a sprained ankle. However, the Bulls point guard doesn't blame the pain for not being his regular self on the court, playing the remainder of the game (after suffering the injury in the first quarter).
Playoff Box Score: Pacers Avoid Sweep, Barely
The Indiana Pacers finally drew blood against the Bulls today, winning 89-84 in a game they never trailed at Conseco Fieldhouse and forcing Game 5 in their Eastern Conference playoff series Tuesday night at the United Center. The Bulls will need the extra rest as Derrick Rose rolled his ankle in the first quarter. Rose did come back to play 43 minutes and notch 15 points and 10 assists.
Playoff Box Score: Bulls Take 3-0 Series Lead
The Bulls took a commanding 3-0 series lead with their 88-84 victory over the Indiana Pacers at Conseco Fieldhouse. Last night's game was another tightly contested, physical game, and the Bulls are in a position to sweep the series.
Playoff Box Score: Bulls Come From Behind To Win Again
For an eighth seed, the Indiana Pacers sure have a lot of fight. For the second time in as many games, the Bulls found themselves playing from behind for much of the game before eking out a close win in the game's final minutes. The Bulls downed the Pacers 96-90 last night, despite poor shooting and incredibly sloppy ball handling.
"One for the Road:" Meet "Mare the Bear," Bulls Good Luck Charm
Deadspin first introduced us to "Mare the Bear," a Bulls fan in her twilight who said some not-so-pleasant things about the Celtics and Heat in a pleasant manner. After watching her preview of the Bulls-Pacers series (and God Bless her for mispronouncing Darren Collison's name) we're thinking of reaching out to Mare to get her take on the rest of the playoffs, should the Bulls advance.
Playoff Box Score: Bulls Stage Furious Comeback, Beat Pacers
This is why the NBA plays 48 minutes, folks. The Bulls were as good as dead in the final three-and-a-half minutes of their opening playoff series against the Indiana Pacers. Trailing by 98-88 with 3:33 left in the game, the Bulls went on a 16-1 run the rest of the way to steal a 104-99 win they had no business winning. Yes, we know Benjy predicted some of these games would be grind it out contests and today's contest was surely that. But the Pacers showed that they can create matchup problems against the Bulls and are capable of taking a game or maybe two.
Playoff Preview: Bulls vs. Pacers
With the best regular season record in the NBA, the Bulls landed home court advantage throughout the playoffs and an opening round match-up against one of their Central Division rivals. The eighth seed Indiana Pacers made the playoffs with a 37-45 record, making them the only sub-.500 team in the postseason. The seven-game series tips off at noon tomorrow.
Morning Box Score: Bulls Lose First Division Game
The Bulls can find positives from every game, even in last night's 115-108 overtime loss to Indiana, which snapped the Bulls nine-game winning streak and ended the team's attempt to become the first team in NBA history to go undefeated in their division. Trailing by as many as 20 points throughout the game, the Bulls stormed back in the fourth quarter thanks to (who else?) Derrick Rose. Rose scored a game high 42 points and single-handedly forced overtime by scoring 19 of the Bulls' final 20 points in regulation.
Morning Box Score: Bulls Too Strong, Too Tall, Too Fast, Too Good Versus Pacers
The Bulls improved to 21-1 when holding opponents to under 90 points. plus, Northwestern gave Ohio State all it can handle; Loyola no match for Cleveland State.
Morning Box Score: Bulls End Road Woes in Indiana
The Bulls were on the verge of a four-game losing streak on the road but as always Derrick Rose came to the rescue in a 99-86 win vs. the Pacers in Indiana.
Morning Box Score: Bull Extend Win Streak, Hawks Fall
Bulls 92, Pacers 73: Carlos Boozer scored 22 points and grabbed 18 rebounds, Derrick Rose added 17 points and 12 assists and channeled Allen Iverson on the court last night to help the Bulls pull away from Indiana at the United Center. Rose rolled his ankle in the fourth quarter and later landed hard on the court on a drive to the basket, which likely had some at the UC gasping when he came down. The win over the Pacers extended the Bulls win streak to six games and, with an upcoming schedule that includes Toronto, the Clippers and Philadelphia, have a good opportunity to keep winning.
Half Way To Where?
With Wednesday night's win over the Indiana Pacers, the Bulls reached the half way point in their season on a high. Not only did they win the game, but they did so without Luol Deng, Chris Duhon and Ben Gordon, who are all currently injured.
Bulls Making Late Playoffs Push
Chicagoist has pretty much given up on the Bulls making the playoffs. Sure, we were diappointed for a while that they took a big step back from the progress last year's team made. Especially during that time between the Super Bowl and March Madness when they were about the only show in town. But we'd found solace in their likely two lottery picks -- including a very good shot at the first pick from the...
Ain't the National Bling Association
Back in the old days players knew how to dress well, but with players' dress becoming increasingly casual in recent years NBA Commissioner David Stern decided it was time to institute a dress code for NBA players when they are participating in team or league activities. Some of course, accuse the league of trying to remove the hip-hop from the league to make it more palatable to corprate and suburban interests.
