Joakim Noah: Master of the Backhanded Compliment

Joakim Noah: Master of the Backhanded Compliment

Bulls Center Joakim Noah didn't have the best series against the Heat - few Bulls outside of Derrick Rose did, and even that's open to debate - but we have to give our favorite whirling dervish some propers for finding a way to dis Miami while admitting the Bulls got their collective ass whipped by them. more ›

Playoff Box Score: Bulls Make Statement Against Heat

It did not matter that the Bulls had the NBA's best record or the top seed in the playoffs, most believed that the Miami Heat were the favorites in the Eastern Conference finals. They believed that their two superstars could dominate a game better than a complete team could work together to beat them. Last night the Bulls proved the power of teamwork as they destroyed the Heat 103-82 to take a 1-0 series lead. more ›

Morning Box Score: Rose Drops Career-High, Sox Still Stuck

The NBA's MVP Derrick Rose proved once again why he deserves that title after scoring a career-high 44 points in Friday's win over the Atlanta Hawks. On the baseball side however, the White Sox can't seem to get on their feet, losing 3-2 for the third consecutive time vs. the Seattle Mariners. At least we have the Bulls, right? more ›

We just knew the NBA's newly crowned MVP wasn't going to allow his team to lose again at home to a lower seed. The Hawks hung tough, but the Bulls maintained a lead for most of the game on the way to an 86-73 victory to even the Eastern Conference Semifinals at a game apiece. more ›

Rose, Bulls Show '91 Champs It's Their Turn to Make Franchise History

It seems rightfully so that the Bulls would climb into the No. 1 spot in the Eastern Conference tying Boston on a night celebrating the 20th anniversary of the franchise's first championship. With Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and other '91 champs watching, Derrick Rose, and the Bulls showed their elders that it's their turn to make some franchise history as they beat the Utah Jazz 118-100 Saturday night. more ›

Afternoon Box Score: Bulls Sweep Heat

Afternoon Box Score: Bulls Sweep Heat

The Bulls may have been among the also-rans in the hunt for LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh during the offseason. But the money they saved in not signing any of them has proven to be put to good use in building an overall deeper team that now sits in sole possession of second place in the Eastern Conference after their 87-86 win over the Heat in Miami. The Bulls 3-0 head-to-head record against the Heat is also their first regular season sweep against Miami since the 1991-92 season. more ›

Morning Box Score: Bulls, Blackhawks Keep Rolling

Morning Box Score: Bulls, Blackhawks Keep Rolling

Let's start with the Blackhawks, shall we? Right now they are the hottest team in the NHL. Last night's 4-2 win over the Minnesota Wild extended their win streak to a season-high five games and vaulted them to fifth place in the Western Conference standings with 74 points. The Blackhawks are only two points behind Phoenix for fourth place in the conference and within striking distance of San Jose for third place. After a mostly frustrating season, the defending Stanley Cup champs are playing as though they think they can win it again, and their recent play indicates they aren't going down without a fight. Jonathan Toews, who's been the catalyst for the Blackhawks resurgence this month, continued his torrid pace. He and Patrick Sharp each scored in the second period. Toews has four goals in his last six games and 23 points in his last 14 games. more ›

Bulls Shut Out in All-Star Reserves

Bulls Shut Out in All-Star Reserves

While the Bulls' Derrick Rose was voted into the starting line-up for the NBA All-Star game, he'll be traveling to Los Angeles by himself for the main event. Last night, the rosters' reserves were announced, and no other Bulls made the cut. Before going down with a thumb injury in December, Joakim Noah looked to be a lock for the game. Carlos Boozer deserved a spot, given his 19.8 points and 10.2 rebounds/game. Of course, he did miss the first month of the season with a broken hand. Luol Deng was an other potential long shot, averaging 17.8 points, 6.2 rebounds. Ultimately, the rest of the Bulls were snubbed. more ›

Bulls Mid-Season Recap

Bulls Mid-Season Recap

With the Bulls having kicked off their smartly timed five-game West coast swing while we dig out from the snowpocalypse, we figured it was a good time to assess their season so far. While not quite the All-Star Break, they've played more than half their schedule already and, through 48 games, the Bulls are a surprising 34-14. That makes them 20 games over .500 for the first time since the Jordan era and equals their record at this point in the year they won their sixth title. It's also good enough to be tied for second best record in the Eastern Conference with a Miami Heat team that added LeBron James and Chris Bosh last summer to team up with Dwyane Wade. Not bad for a team that missed out on those three top free agents and has a rookie head coach. more ›

Can the Bulls Keep Winning Without Noah?

Can the Bulls Keep Winning Without Noah?

Tonight’s game vs. the LA Clippers may not be as bad for the Bulls, with or without Noah, considering the Clippers are 6-21, one of the worst records in the NBA. The Bulls are also on their way to possibly winning their eighth game in a row for the first time since a nine-game run in 2005. The Bulls also have an advantage considering Boozer has had some success against the Clippers. He had a season-high 34 points and added 12 boards in the Bulls’ 110-93 win Wednesday and averaged 22.8 points and 11.9 rebounds in his last nine games against the Clippers. more ›

Bulls to Lose Noah for 8-10 Weeks

Bulls to Lose Noah for 8-10 Weeks

When Carlos Boozer broke his fifth metacarpal bone, Bulls fans learned more than they'd hoped to about the skeletal structure of the hand. Now, it's the ligaments we need to familiarize ourselves with as Joakim Noah will require surgery to repair torn ulnar ligament in his right thumb that will force him to miss eight to ten weeks of action. Noah's injury is the same as the one Kirk Hinrich suffered in the 2008-09 season where he missed nine weeks. more ›

Morning Box Score: Bulls Fall Short in LA

Morning Box Score: Bulls Fall Short in LA

Lakers 98, Bulls 91: Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson all showed why they're the foundation of this Bulls team, but it wasn't enough as they fell to the defending NBA champs at the Staples Center. Rose led all scorers with 30, Noah added 19 points and 13 rebounds and Gibson 16 points and 12 boards, but Luol Deng reverted to his one-quarter All-Star status and the Lakers' bench outscored their Bulls counterparts 39-10, shooting 50 percent to the Bulls' 16.6 percent in the process. more ›

Morning Box Score: Bulls Kick Off Road Trip With Win

Bulls 95, Rockets 92: It's only one game, but a win on the annual "circus trip" is still a win. This win, however, kicked off the long road trip for the Bulls. Derrick Rose, whom Bulls blogger Sam Smith said is becoming "unguardable," scored 33 points to lead the Bulls over the Rockets in Houston. Luol Deng added 16 oints and 10 rebounds as the Bulls, who doubled up the Rockets 30-15 in the second quarter, held on to beat Houston. more ›
