Afternoon Box Score: White Sox End Homestand From Hell With Loss [Updated with Cubs Win]

At least the White Sox were able to hit the ball today. Too bad it wasn't enough to get John Danks his first win of the season as the Sox closed out a 1-5 homestand with a 3-2 loss to the Minnesota Twins. Danks had another quality start, giving up all three runs in eight innings of work. But it was the defense that failed him in the sixth inning when both Mark teahan and Paul Konerko broke to field a bunt from Matt Tolbert, allowing Tolbert to reach safely while advancing Denard Span to second. Span later scored on a Jason Kubel sacrifice fly. The White Sox have been unable to do any two things - pitching, hitting and fielding - right this season. And that's why they're at the bottom of the AL Central standings. more ›

Hopefully, the race isn't determined yet and it means something." Danks also benefited from some great run support.
