Gun Charges Against Drew Peterson Dropped, Namesake Law Passes
Gun charges against Drew Peterson stemming from a semi-automatic weapon police seized were dismissed this afternoon after prosecutors refused to cooperate with a judge's ruling. The judge had ruled that prosecutors had to turn over to the defense all documents they compiled before they arrested Peterson on the gun charge. Attorneys for Bolingbrook's Most Notorious Ex-Husband™ claim the charge was a case of vindictiveness. So it looks like we will be prevented from seeing the awesomeness of John Travolta testifying on behalf of Drew.

The Church of Scientology is setting up shop at the former Artcraft Building in the South Loop, at 650 S. Clark. When the flagship center opens next summer there will be activities, social services and, presumably, auditing. The building’s previous tenants, ACORN and the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation, moved out because the space and crumbling façade needed attention...

When cabin fever sets in, we take good news any place we can get it. Still, we had to read this bit of news twice when we received it. A press release sent to Chicagoist and other outlets yesterday from the Brooklyn Brewery announced that they've reached an agreement with distributor River North, allowing the Williamsburg-based craft brewer to sell its flagship lager, Brooklyn Brown Ale, and Brooklyn East India Pale Ale in the Chicago...
