Well, summer is still here and we are slowly yet surely approaching another weekend, so yes, there is another festival to speak of in Chicago. As the end of summer is, sadly, approaching, we want to soak up as much outdoor fest goodness as possible.

Weekend Dance Party: Junior Boys Hit Smart Bar
Business as usual with this week's pick for Weekend Dance Party, as the one-and-only Smart Bar will host Canadian electronic-pop outfit Junior Boys, along with suppot sets from Major Taylor and Popstatic. Jeremy Greenspan and Matthew Didemus, the men behind Junior Boys, have a magic touch when it comes to their special brand of summery electronic music, constructing infectious hooks and choruses atop punchy synth and extremely tight percussion. While it is a DJ set rather than a live show, we're hoping they'll mix in their own work, right alongside the great electro, house and techno they're known for spinning. Their support, locals Major Taylor and Popstatic, aren't to be missed either, so get there early and stay till the lights come on.
Wicker Park Fest 2009: A Little Something For Everyone
Wicker Park Fest makes its 2009 appearance this weekend and is slated to bring out 25,000 over the course of Saturday and Sunday. If three music stages and over 40 acts is enough to make the mob scene of hipsters co-mingling with Bugaboos bearable for you, then we'll see you at the beer tent.
