Anyone else spot this TV on the Blue Line this morning? Katie Scully writes it "appeared to be riding alone."

So the big snow wasn't all that big after all. At least not in Chicago. Parts of Wisconsin got 20 inches. Ayee! But the lousy weather was indeed shocking--five people were sent to the hospital last night after they received mild electrical shocks, possibly from a bum wire in a utility pole. It's the third electric shock incident in the last few days.

What a hilarious week to be a Missed Connection. Just when we think things are starting to grow tamer on Craigslist, we're struck with a Desperate Housewives-style fantasy about Juan the door-repair guy. Behold (the parts we don't feel dirty repeating): I know we've only met a couple of times briefly but I just have to be honest. ... On the bed, on the couch, in the shower, on the floor ... I just can't...

We really loved the photos of the icy lake by feralgoat (Katie Scully). We were particularly drawn to this one, as it reminded us a bit of Terry Evans' aerial photos of the city.
