We've been reading My Last Supper, a book that asks 50 chefs what they would eat for their last meal. It made us wonder about what we'd choose for our last meal if our choices were limited to restaurants in Chicago. Here are some of our picks:

Burrito Bracket's "Lost Weekend"
The last time we checked in on the Burrito Bracket, we were waiting to see who would win the Tecalitlan/Irazu blood match to join La Pasadita, El Taco Veloz, and De Pasada in the final four. It's on our mind today because this is when the Burrito Bowl championship was slated to be held. A post by Nate on November 15 read that he was taking a one-week break because he'd "fallen way behind...
Quick Bites
Many Wicker Park commuters are feeling a little less caffeinated these days since Half & Half (under the Damen Blue Line stop) closed up shop. Owner Debbie Sharpe told Metromix that the quality of the building is to blame. The good news is Sharpe also owns the Goddess and Grocer down the street, and Half & Half's delicious commuter sandwiches and pastries will be available for purchase there. LTH commentors prophecy its space may become...
Yes, Sir, It Can Be Done!
We always appreciate when the New York Times Travel Section takes time out of its busy day to come and visit our little Midwestern city. The last time they stopped by they discovered that the West Loop is cool! This time, they send "the frugal traveler" to answer one of life's big questions: Is it possible to spend a weekend in Chicago and spend less than $500? The answer, of course, is not only that...
LTH GNR OMG
Twenty new restaurants, including Chicagoist favorite Smoque, (chow pictured) were named Great Neighborhood Restaurants (GNR) today by our favorite (and the only) Chicago-based culinary discussion board, LTHForum. LTH members give the yearly awards to restaurants they believe "contribute to their neighborhoods' and the city's character by offering outstanding food, an authentic experience of their ethnic culture, and/or a welcoming (or in some cases, belovedly cranky) atmosphere for guests."
Who Are Your Picks for the Final Four?
March madness is six long, cold months away. Thanks to The Burrito Bracket things aren't looking so bleak. The blog combines two of Chicagoist's favorite things — eating Mexican food and bracketology — into one, excellent idea; a 19-contender tournament-style competition to determine the best burrito in the Wicker Park area. Burrito Bracket's top three seeds won't surprise a seasoned consumer of Wicker Park burritos; La Pasadita, Tecalitlan and El Taco Veloz earned the top...
Who's Afraid of a Big, Bad Burrito?
The Trib has a nice round-up of gigantic burritos today, but it’s hard to read without simultaneously really wanting a burrito and really wanting to hurl. It turns out that Chicago is home to some insanely big burritos.
