The White Sox "one game at a time" mantra of late is paying off dividends as they wrap up a 5-2 homestand.

Morning Box Score: Dodgers Snap Zambrano's Win Streak
Carlos Zambrano was riding a 10-game winning streak dating back to last August, but his teammates bailed him out of some certain losses in the first couple weeks of the season. The Los Angeles Dodgers made sure that couldn't happen yesterday, chasing Big Z for five runs in the first inning en route to a 7-3 win at Wrigley Field. Zambrano only lasted five innings, his shortest outing of the season, allowing six runs. LA outscored the Cubs 27-15 in taking two out of three games in the series. Things aren't getting easier for the North siders as the Colorado Rockies come to town for a three-game series starting at 7:05 p.m. (CSN, WGN-AM 720).
Afternoon Box Score: Cubs Rally Against Dodgers
Starlin Castro had four hits, matching a career high, and was part of an eighth inning rally as the Cubs beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 10-8 at Wrigley Field. The Cubs were trailing 8-5 in the eighth when they started their comeback, sparked two-run doubles by Castro and Jeff Baker. Jeff Samardzija earned the victory in relief of the still-struggling Ryan Dempster, and Carlos Marmol picked up the save. For you Arcade Fire fans, Will Butler sang during the seventh inning stretch while Win Butler and Régine Chassagne were shopping in Bucktown, according to Tankboy.
Baseball Box Score: Cubs and Sox Fail to Prevail
Trouble arose on the North and South Sides of Chicago as neither of our beloved teams could pull out a win. The Cubs suffered a hard-to-watch 12-2 loss to the Dodgers while the White Sox one again got our hopes up with a multi home-run game but fell in Detroit 9-3.
Down to the Wire
We're now well into the last week of baseball's regular season, and there are still a whole pack of teams fighting for that lone NL Wild Card playoff spot, with the Cubs thick in the middle.
