Why We Can't Have Nice Things: Suburban Pool Edition
While most of this weekend's talk revolving around fecal matter had to do with, well, you know, it seems youngsters had similar poop-related behavioral issues closer to home. Five teens - one adult (18) and four juveniles - were charged for an August 1 incident in Mount Prospect in which garbage and animal poop was dumped into a park district pool. Per the Sun-Times:

Mount Prospect's Lee DeWyze survived last night's final cut and is headed to next week's American Idol final showdown against Crystal Bowersox. DeWyze's performance last night included the below rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" much to the giddy delight of the judges (Simon had actually selected the song for Lee).

BusinessWeek Magazine Votes Tinley Park The Best Place To Raise Children
Following up on their decision to name Mount Prospect the best place in the U.S. to raise children in 2008, BusinessWeek magazine has passed the title on to Tinley Park for 2009. Unlike their magazine rival, Forbes, who has voted Chicago the nation's most stressful city for the past two years, it seems like BusinessWeek may have a bit of a crush on the suburbs of Chicago.

Business Week magazine has named Mt. Prospect as the nation's best place to raise children, using factors such as test scores and cultural make-up. Sayeth BW:
