Despite any existing ideological feelings about the existence and efforts of ACORN (what's that stand for, anyways? Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, that's what) any organization that is documented as doing anything to game the system should be bounced, and bounced fast. We live in a society that's got rules, whether we like it or not, and no organization on either side of the political fence gets to play outside the sandbox. Sometimes a few bad apples do get to ruin the whole damn bunch.

This just in: Chicago's own micro-local news site Every Block has been purchased by MSNBC. While the group's press release doesn't say how much founder Adrian Holovaty and his team will be paid, it does say that the site's hub will remain in Chicago.

A couple months ago, there was a dust up when Chicago Reader's web editor Whet Moser became justifiably irate after he discovered The Huffington Post had republished a Reader Critic's Choice piece in its entirety. Now we're talking about a mammoth website lifting content again, but this time with different players -- MSNBC, Chicago public radio station WBEZ, and the middleman, NBC Chicago.
