The Bulls went deep into their bench last night against a Nets team that has eight wins on the season and gave some starters much-needed rest.
Morning Box Score: Bulls Rout Nets
Morning Box Score: Bulls Coast Against New Jersey
The Bulls have been doing what all great teams must: feasting on inferior competition. And they're doing so while showing off their bench depth due to injury.
Morning Box Score: Bulls Streaking, Hawks Blindsided in Dallas
The Bulls reclaimed sole possession of the top spot in the Eastern Conference last night with an 84-73 road win over the New Jersey Nets. The win also extends the Bulls' longest win streak of the season to eight games while snapping the Nets' five-game win streak. Derrick Rose didn't have a good night shooting and only dished out eight assists, but he did lead the Bulls with 21 points. Luol Deng added 19 points and rookie Omer Asik came off the bench to score 11 and grab 16 rebounds. Rose once again met the challenge of a one-on-one matchup with an elite point guard, hounding the Nets' Deron Williams throughout the game. Williams had 11 assists but only scored five points.
Morning Box Score: Nets Upset Bulls, Stars Shine Over Hawks
Nets 96, Bulls 94: The Bulls struggled most of the night against the lowly Nets. A tip-in by Sasha Vujacic with 5.3 seconds left provided the margin of victory for New Jersey after CJ Watson tied the game with two free throws. Derrick Rose led the Bulls with 21 points, but only had one assist.
Morning Box Score: Bulls Wrap Up 2010 in Style
Guess it's only fitting that a man named Carlos Boozer lead the Chicago Bulls as they ended 2010 in style. I
Bulls Nip Nets, Regain Hold of 8th Seed
It took a while. A really long while. But the Bulls finally seem to have discovered that scrappy instinct that led them to a 47-35 record last season and their first playoff appearance since MJ left town.
Is There Such Thing as a Good Loss?
The Bulls are less than a week into the regular season and have played three games so far. They've got a 1-2 record. But Chicagoist is more positive about this team than we were heading into the season. That's because the last two games, while losses, were very tight games against very good teams.
Bulls Tip Off 2004-2005 Season Tonight
The Bulls tip off against the New Jersey Nets tonight at the United Center. Starting the opener will be: Ben Gordon and Kirk Hinrich at guards, Andres Nocioni and Othella Harrington at forward and Tyson Chandler in the middle. Eddie Curry won't be in the lineup because he'll be serving the first of his two game suspension for his part in a fight against Washington during the pre-season. This lineup is likely to be fluid, however. Curry will displace Harrington once his suspension is up, shifting Chandler to forward. And if Gordon's poor pre-season play continues, look for Luol Deng to move into the starting lineup. So any way you look at it, expect two rookies in the starting lineup.
Don't Let the Door Hit you...
...on the way out of town, Eddie Robinson! On the eve of NBA season, as teams submit their rosters to the NBA prior to this week's season openers the Bulls and Robinson agreed to terms on a buyout.
