Monday night Rachelle Bowden, this site's first editor and forever "Chicagoist Prime," arranged a meetup of Chicagoist alumni that turned out to be well-attended by Chicagoistos and -as past. We were at Cole's and the weather was just a little bit chilly, which meant heartier brews were on the agenda.

Oysters and beer: a combination so simple but perfect. Jimmy Buffet wrote a song where he wished for oysters and beer for dinner every day of the year (only one? Color us shocked!), and as we reach autumn the oysters harvested probably taste better than they will at any other time of year.
Do This: North Coast Brewery Night @ Map Room
As Karl mentioned, Oberon Season is getting an early start. Meanwhile we're waiting for the folks at Three Floyds to send us our DarkLord Day golden tickets, which we paid for and will not scalp in the parking lot on April 25.
