Somebody's been keeping track of our eyelash-blowing habits because the Mountain Goats recorded a song about Super Tuesday, and it's all about satanic symbolism. "Vampires only kiss you if they've sharpened up their fangs." Oh, mama.
Extra, Extra
BBQ? In Pilsen? This Weekend? I'm There!!
A few weeks back in one of the "Friday Buffet" installments we wrote about Honky Tonk BBQ, a vendor that's been traveling around the street fair circuit all summer serving up some decent barbecue, but nothing that makes us start searching for superlatives to describe it. Steppenwolf has moved on and current tenant ComedySportz will transfer to nifty new facilities, but that doesn’t diminish the spiritual importance of this scruffy Lakeview space.

A few gay briefs: · A recent poll commissioned by Equality Illinois found that while a majority of your neighbors would reject a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, most don't favor marriage rights for gay and lesbian couples. Even though no amendment is likely to be introduced soon, 67% of those polled would vote no, only...
Out at Chicago Historical Society
Tomorrow night, the Chicago Historical Society kicks off their "Out at CHS" lecture series with a look at how modern historians interpret same-sex relationships in the 19th Century. Scholars from area universities will discuss the lives of Jane Addams, Walt Whitman, and Charlotte Cushman through the modern perspective.
