Watch Your Favorite Chefs Behind the Turntables at Old Town Social
Have you ever wanted to see what sort of music Stephanie Izard likes to dance to? Now you can experience it first hand. "Stagiaire Records," a chef-driven party at Old Town Social every Tuesday night from 10 PM to 2 AM lets you rock out with some of Chicago's most famous chefs, and the proceeds go to benefit the Green City Market. Quietly running since May, the party is now ramping up for the summer.
First Look: Dose Market
The River East Art Center in Streeterville teemed with stylish young people on Sunday for the debut of Dose Market, a new monthly gathering of indie merchants offering up a host of chic, vintage, artisanal and otherwise cooler-than-thou products, all falling under the broad categories "Food + Fashion." According to the Dose website, the organizers "aim to bring you the city's best purveyors in one space, one Sunday a month."
"In Chef's Hands" Brings Culinary Experiences to Those In Need
Scott Crane was under hospice care for muscular dystrophy when he met Chef Rodelio Aglibot. Crane had difficulty eating, and his condition was quite challenging, but he was a dedicated lover of food and a blogger. He asked for a unique form of help, what he calls "Food Therapy," and after a day in the kitchen with Chef Aglibot rolling sushi and swapping stories, his condition began to improve. The experience led him and Aglibot to collaborate on the creation of "In Chef's Hands," a new charitable organization that aims to bring one-on-one culinary experiences to individuals with special needs.
Pencil This In
Today's listings include a night of metal at Reggie's.

Next weekend, Old Town Social offers a savory fix with their OktoberFEAST dishes of homemade sausages, brats and beers while Andersonville serves up the fifth annual Dessert Crawl, featuring the best desserts from twenty-four restaurants in the Northside neighborhood.
