Panda Riot puts out the kind of dreamy, shimmery pop that makes you forget all about winter, and they’re performing tonight at The Burlington.
Last Minute Plans: Panda Riot At The Burlington
Panda Riot Promise "Nightime Record" With Northern Automatic Music
Dance-pop-cum-psych-rock quartet Panda Riot debuted a new song on their Bandcamp titled "Serious Radical Girls," which the Chicago group says is from a forthcoming new album it's recording on the West side of the city.
Architecture Constructs Two New Songs
In late 2009, the lovely ladies of local dream-pop band Panda Riot -- Melissa Harris and Rebecca Scott -- started their own side project, architecture. Soon after they dropped a couple songs (including a cover of R. Kelly’s “Pregnant”) and announced that their debut EP would be released “soonish.” But 2009 was a long time ago, and we’d pretty much forgotten all about it until last week when they released two more tracks, “In the Morning” and “Tomorrow.”
Back to School...With Bells On
Sorry about the late notice indie rock'n'rollers, but we’d be remiss not to mention the killer double-shoegaze-no-foam latte at the Empty Bottle tonight. Brooklyn’s gracefully futuristic School of Seven Bells is one of the most talked about (and deserving) blog bands of the past couple years, and taking in one of their many sets at SXSW this past spring was like entering a psychedelic cocoon in the midst of a dusty hipster tornado.
