Sex writer Amy Andre and the adult toy store Early to Bed are presenting a film festival of sorts, Queer Porn-ucopia. A compilation of red-hot queer lust scenes -- the hottest, supposedly, ever caught on film. Tickets are available at the door with a suggested donation of $8 to $10 going to benefit the Leather Archives and Museum. Amy says, Bring a date – or get ready to go home with one. Lesbians, bi women,......

Republican Representative Peter Roskam of Illinois's 6th District is co-sponsoring the Military Honor and Decency Act, which would ban the sale of pornographic material on Army bases all over the world. A similar law is already in place on bases in the United States, where hard-core magazines and movies are forbidden. Per the Sun-Times, even mainstream mags such as Cosmopolitan are banned in certain countries, including Iraq, as not to offend locals. Roskam’s bill would......

A Waukegan apartment was burglarized recently, which we're sure happens from time to time, but this thieves stole more than just ordinary valuables. They stole a porn stash. (Not to be confused with a porn stache.) The 39-year-old [man], who lives in an apartment in the 800 block of Berwick Boulevard, told police thieves took nearly 40 pornographic DVDs. The collection included 30 assorted titles and a 10-disc box set of ethnic-specific movies. Thieves also......

Porn is like a money tree. If you need some cash, just go out and shake the silicone until a few hundred thousand dollars drop out. So how exactly can the nation’s foremost “gentlemen’s magazine” be losing money? Playboy announced a 4th-quarter loss today, losing $1.1 million compared with a $3.7 million profit at this time last year. Subscriptions are down, newsstand sales are off, TV revenue has dropped 10%, and apparently Scott Baio isn’t......

We'd just like to point out that for the price of one Hannah Montana ticket, you could feed a starving indie rock band for a year. For reals. Conrad Black got a 6 1/2 year sentence today. Oddly enough, we're not feeling sorry for him. Cheryl Lavin continues to dispense awesome advice. In this case she tells a woman who is upset at only having sex 4 times a week to tell her boyfriend......

Because it's never too early in the day for a little bit of food porn. Chicagoist heard from a little birdie that Tim Graham, chef de cuisine at Tru, is serving a fourteen-day aged Kobe ribeye soaked in a marinade of dark sake and soy sauce before grilling. That steak is then served with mashed and corked potatoes. Now we love us some Kobe beef. Next to Piedmontese it's one of our favorites. Right now......

The cold weather - and holiday festivities - descended upon Gothamist. The Rockefeller Christmas tree was lit, Broadway stagehand finally ended their strike, and NASCAR decided to run their victory lap through Times Square. There were disturbing photographs revealing the working conditions in which many city manholes are produced and ninjas were also a hot topic, either robbing homes or entering into alibis. But the city was really rocked by how Rudy Giuliani's visits......

Seth Anderson's "raindrop porn" (heh) and Stephen Gay's brick wall make us want to put together a Pat The Bunny-style book about the textures around town. Suck on that, "daddy's beard."......

SFist witnessed a new apartment building tszuj the skyline with spectacular, gaudy turquoise aplomb, the (informal) renaming of the Mission/SOMA neighborhood border, the return of the Maltese Falcon, the Mayor Gavin Newsom mea culpa-ing over his Hawaiian getaway during the oil spill, and double-decker buses hitting the streets of San Francisco. Oh, and some baseball player named Barry Bonds is a liar whose pants, it seems, are totally on fire. LAist continues to cover the......

Oh, look, it's time for another sensationalist story about the internet. Let's see... sexual predators on the web? Nah, that's too played out. We know: Hate speech! Let's get to it. Trib says: "It might come as a surprise to the soldiers who defeated fascism in World War II, but the United States has become a refuge for Nazism and other brands of extremism over the last decade. On the Internet, that is." We say:......

Londonist got the big scoop of the week with what may be the first images of notorious street artist Banksy in action. They also got on a runaway train without an operator provoking a response from the transport authorities. Elsewhere, London's answer to Central Station is about to open for business, and Londonist got a sneak preview. Meanwhile, spooky goings-on beneath London Bridge, where a cache of skeletons provided an apt story for Hallowe'en.......

Why is WBEZ warning us about "sensitive language" in a story about a sexually-charged art exhibit? On 848 Gabriel Spitzer said the language might be "offensive." We've listened to the coverage of "Girl on Guy: the object of my desire" twice now, and we have no idea what the hell they're talking about. Does saying "genitalia" really warrant a warning? Is uttering the word "porn" really so scandalous? Lisa Labuz said "sodomize" a few minutes......

Oh, pornography. It holds a strange power over people. It can cause priests to debate porn stars, the incarceration of R&B singers, and even become a code name in the biggest scandal in American history. Or it can cause a woman to kill her boyfriend. Wait, what? Kill her boyfriend? Jeanette Strowder, 58, had been dating her boyfriend, Jesse Martin, 54, for sixteen years. For the past two years they lived together in Fuller Park.......

Chicagoist is gearing up for this weekend's annual Air & Water Show along the lakefront. In what's becoming an annual tradition around there, staff member Todd McClamroch even got to fly with one of the participants. Chicagoist's decidedly opinionated readership was also appalled that one of their staffers found a popular local brewpub to be a great place to bring a kid. They also think that an unlikely activist for immigration rights should just take......

1. Porn stars playing Twister. And for a charitable donation, you can join in as well. 2. Gay cheerleaders of the Chicago Spirit Brigade soaring through the air. When you have a significant male presence on the squad, things people really get flying. 3. Shirtless muscle men. And an occasional shirtless woman. 4. Models wearing cutting-edge fashions, strutting their stuff. In an over-exagerated dance move, the rear seam in one model’s pants bursts open. 5.......

The saucy singing puppets of the Tony Award-Winning Avenue Q will finally be coming to Chicago, but not for a long run. And it’s going to be a while before they call Chicago home. As part of their national tour, which began this July, the puppets will spend two weeks from May 27 to June 7, 2008 at Cadillac Palace Theatre as part of the Broadway in Chicago series. Inspired by Sesame Street, the show’s......

As an occasional peruser of adult entertainment (NSFW), Chicagoist couldn't resist watching Ron "The Hedgehog" Jeremy debate Pastor Craig Gross about pornography last night at the Lakeshore Theater. As pastor of the XXXChurch, Gross has been on a mission for the last five years. A mission not to eradicate pornography ("I don't want to shut down porn," says Pastor Craig), but to help people overcome what they consider a problem, like alcohol, drugs, or gambling.......

There is nothing more that we want to get done than this installment of Empty Out Your Wallet, so we can get outside and enjoy this day. No, that headline is not redundant. One of our favorite movie theaters, the Music Box opened in 1929. By the 70’s however it had added porn to its schedule in order to stay afloat. It actually closed in 1977 but was reopened in 1983 after renovations. It’s been showing the best in foreign, revival and indie film ever since. Love that organ. In 2003 the theater was sold to the building’s owner, William Schopf.......

All Arthur Friedman wanted to do was liven things up in the bedroom. He and his wife, Natalie, had been married for ten years, and things were getting a bit, ahem, stale. Instead of the usual suspects — lingerie, porn, toys, weekend get-a-ways — Arthur had one tiny request: he wanted to watch his wife engaging in sexual acts with other men and women. (We imagine her response was something along the lines of, "oh......

Even though you might not recognize the name, you probably know who Chris Nieratko is. Editor of now defunct Big Brother skateboard magazine, one of the original Jackass members, New Jersey skate shop owner, and writer for several alt publications, Chris just released his first book, Skinema, a mash-up of previously published porno reviews that have little or nothing to do with the films themselves. Instead, Chris uses the space to relate perhaps even dirtier......

You've heard about "those" video stores. They have the regular videos in the front, but they do brisk business from the videos in "the back." We actually worked in one once. It was called Video Update. It was the weirdest video store. It had the lamest selection of videos, was oddly arranged, and was the brightest, whitest, most fluorescent place ever. But the real cash was made from all the Napervillains (we went to college......

LAist is experimenting with blogging dates from J-Date, but finds the best men are found offline. Some date vicariously online and that is one reason why porn is big -- really freaking big -- so they ask if they should cover XXX since the heart of it lays in the city's San Fernando Valley. A writer grapples with her food porn photography obsession, another gets censored on Flickr, one gets scooped by the LA......

The nicer the weather gets, the busier we get across the Ist-A-Verse. But we like being busy. Here's a peek at what we've been up to since last week! Chicagoist had an interview with Audrey Niffenegger, whose popular book, The Time Traveler's Wife, was based in their fine city. They also had a heated discussion about Rush Limbaugh's controversial Barack Obama parody, talked about whether Uncle Julio's Hacienda is a good place to get......

We don't search YouTube very often. To be honest, we're not even sure if we can be considered part of the YouTube generation, or, you know, whatever Time magazine is calling us this week. We do, however, think it is actually pretty cool that the site can bring things that may not have been so accessible before to anyone with a computer, like funny videos of animals at the zoo. The Brookfield Zoo, the Lincoln......

We love food porn at Chicagoist. Like "porn" porn, food porn isn't as good as the real thing ... but that doesn't seem to stop us from lusting after the food featured so beautifully on blogs like La Tartine Gourmande. Another fan of beautiful food photography is Chicago foodie site LTH Forum who announced this week that they are sponsoring a food photography contest. While the prizes are on the puny side — first......

For readers who have arrived via search engine, Chicagoist features no real teacher on teacher action, but the Sandridge Elementary School District does. In a scene that we can only imagine involved lines like "Ms. Lofton, your recent performance has been naughty", a DVD "sex tape", featuring a principal and a teacher at a Lynwood elementary school, was sent to several parents' mailboxes. The graphic movie takes place in the principal's office and lasts......

Wade Miller is in, and Mark Prior is on his way to Iowa. Spike Lee is spending time with about 300 CPS students. Someone broke into the Deatrick family's Bolingbrook home and stole a computer, jewelry and a pug named Pixie, but all they really care about is getting their dog back, especially for their kid. Thanks to the Bolingbrook Crime Stoppers, family and friends of the victims, and B96 radio hosts Eddie and......

Let's face it: there are few very documentaries about porn out there that aren't, well, actually porn. And porn documentaries from a woman's point of view? To be honest, we can't even think of one. That's why Becky Goldberg's new documentary Hot and Bothered: Feminist Pornography is so unique. It will be shown at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, at The Leather Archives and Museum. It's a rare glimpse into a traditionally male-dominated world......
