YAWN Wants You To Remix Its Album

Local quartet YAWN released their first full-length Open Season back in August, winning over even the most cynical critics with its dreamy, psychedelic, electro-heavy beats. Now, the band has released all the stems to the latest album in hopes that you’ll remix them for a new remix album. more ›

The Hood Internet Help Make Foster The People Listenable

Dickfork 3.0 goes down this weekend at Darkroom and to build excitement for the yearly party that just so happens to coincide with a music festival with an awfully similar name headliners The Hood Internet have sent out their remix of Foster The People's "Pumped Up Kicks." First, we get that people are currently lurving the sugary rush of "Pumped up Kicks" but after giving Foster the People's debut a few listens we're left cold by the band. Pristine yet organic seems to be the key feeling behind Lindstrøm's beds of sound, and Christabelle's coolly in control vocals ride the same line of duality. It's beach music that works on the slopes of Aspen. more ›

Lolla Remixes Last Band Standing

First of all, let's get this out of the way. We were watching the little video with Perry Farrell below and were thinking he's looking remarkably well preserved for a dude who is 50. Then we thought, "Wait, Perry Farrell is FIFTY?!" We've always though Bowie was well preserved but Farrell is giving that man a run for his money. more ›

Remix Kanye

Remix Kanye

Say what you will about Kanye West, but dude knows how to keep himself on top of the news cycle in order to draw attention to a new album. In an effort to out-Radiohead Radiohead, he wants fans to remix his lead single "Love Lockdown" and -- unlike a certain British band who charges for their stems on iTunes -- is offering all of the essential elements of the song for free to do with as you please. We may just have to dig out our old CD of Acid 1.0 to have a go at this ourselves. more ›
