So now the news has sunk in and...well, now what? There's plenty of speculation, mainly around the idea that Oprah will simply relaunch her show on OWN once she closes down shop here. Kind of what Nikki Finke suggested a few weeks ago. So who knows what we'll find out in a few minutes when her show goes on the air, the last live taping of the calendar year (new taped episodes will still be shot). She'll address her audience and we're guessing it'll be mostly the same as what we've already her. But maybe we're wrong. Maybe we'll get specific details about what she plans on doing when that mystical date of September 9, 2011 flips over on the calendar.

        

Around 20,000 people showed up on a stretch of the Mag Mile to help Oprah film the season premiere for her upcoming 24th season. After all the arguments over how disruptive it would be versus how good it is for the city's image, it's all over. The Tribune reports things got a little hairy early in the day with people pushing and shoving at times, but for the most part, the event seemed to go off without a hitch and the city continued pushing this as a great marketing opportunity, not to mention something to pad the city's resume in the last push for the 2016 Olympic bid.

     

As we mentioned on Wednesday, Kanye West performed for the kids last night. Besides the main concert to benefit the Kanye West Foundation - filmed for a later television airing on FUSE - Kanye also performed an exclusive sound check and held a a Q&A for a group of local students. For One Group Of Students, Good Grades = Kanye

A group of local high school students dedicated themselves to working harder to improve their grades and now it's paying off in the form of Kanye West. For Highland Park High sophomore David Abrams, it all started with Lil Wayne. As he told the Sun-Times:
