Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the pastor at a church the Obamas attended and the source of much consternation for Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign, has lashed out. In a letter to Africa 6000 International when the group was raising money for Haiti relief and obtained by the Associated Press (dated February 18, 2010) Wright says:

Daley, Quinn Play the Feud Over Budget
Expressing displeasure with the amount of money Chicago (and other cities) would get, Mayor Daley attacked Governor Quinn's proposed budget two weeks after the Governor first made his budget public. Said the Mayor, "We get no benefit. Then why should anybody be for it?" But Daley's complaints didn't stop there: he chided Quinn for a budget that lacked sufficient funding for things like transportation and education, claiming the Chicago Public School system would only get $54 million as opposed to the $200 million it needs. He also complained about the need to fund local governments as revenues drastically decrease:
Saunders, Feder Play The Feud
Things got down-right nasty at Monday night's meeting of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artist when NBC 5's Warner Saunders (pictured right) accused former Sun-Times columnist Robert Feder of bias. Extra sizzle: Feder was in attendance as a guest of the AFTRA. According to the Trib's Phil Rosenthal, Saunders' said in his incendiary speech that Feder underminded "the accomplishments of black talent while placing the spotlight on our deficiencies" and then added that inviting Feder was "like choosing David Duke to serve as mohel at a circumcision." Damn. Speaking to Mancow yesterday, Feder said, "From the very beginning, [it] became a personal attack." AFTRA Chicago executive director Eileen Willenborg defended Saunders' right to the speech, saying, "It was a forum for free speech to happen, and free speech sure happened."
Mariotti, Telander Play The Feud
At the risk of turning into Mariottist, we couldn't pass up this story. Last week, Mariotti wrote to Michael Miner at The Reader in response to Miner's post regarding Mariotti's alleged deal with the Trib falling through. During that response, Mariotti had this to say about former co-worker and fellow S-T columnist Rick Telander:
I feel sorry for these people you quote. They need to get a grip, do their work, break some stories and concentrate on writing good sports columns. Who cares about me? I could spot Rick Telander 890 words of Rick Reilly, and he still wouldn't write a relevant 900-word column. He's a bitter old man stuck in 1973.SNAP!
