That flood watch not enough for you? Not bothered by the earthquake? Batten down the hatches because we're now under a tornado watch through 9 p.m. tonight. A line of storms is developing across southeast Iowa into Northwest Illinois that'll be trucking their way across the northern portion of the state in our general direction.
More Rough Weather On The Way
Stormy Weather On The Way
We warned you this morning, didn't we? We knew this breezy, warm, sunny day was all a precursor to more tumultuous weather on the horizon. Indeed, the Storm Prediction Center at the National Weather Service has plastered a good chunk of Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin under a Tornado Watch through 8 p.m. tonight. As of now, Cook County is included in the watch, but we expect that to change as the afternoon wears on and those storms barrel our way. Keep an eye out here and here for changing weather information.
Beware of Messy Rush Hour Commute
Be careful out there heading home tonight. The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center has issued a Tornado Watch for a good chunk of Northern Illinois (though Cook County is not yet is now included) and a large band of heavy rain is headed our way. If you're driving, slow down and be safe.
Tornado Watch
In addition to it being a shitty day weatherwise, we are also under a tornado watch until 2pm. Be prepared to take cover. Or not...
