Tom Thibodeau rested Luol Deng, Joakim Noah and Rip Hamilton last night, and Carlos Boozer stepped up his game as the Bulls made easy work of Utah at the United Center.

Rose, Bulls Show '91 Champs It's Their Turn to Make Franchise History
It seems rightfully so that the Bulls would climb into the No. 1 spot in the Eastern Conference tying Boston on a night celebrating the 20th anniversary of the franchise's first championship. With Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and other '91 champs watching, Derrick Rose, and the Bulls showed their elders that it's their turn to make some franchise history as they beat the Utah Jazz 118-100 Saturday night.
The Friday Flashback: "The Original Bull"
Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan abruptly resigned yesterday, ending a 26-year relationship with the team, 23 of them as head coach. Sloan's tenure as Jazz head coach was the longest current tenure in professional sports. The native of downstate McLeansboro is the only NBA coach to win 1,000 games with one team. The rest of his wins came during a 94-121 stint as head coach of the Bulls. Sloan's history with the Bulls runs deep. When the Bulls joined the NBA in 1966, Sloan was their first choice in the expansion draft and, with it, the nickname "The Original Bull." Along with coach Johnny "Red" Kerr, Sloan led the Bulls to the playoffs in their inaugural season, posting the best expansion record in league history.
Morning Box Score: Bulls Rebound in Utah, Blackhawks Make Oilers Easy Pickings
last night's game against the Utah Jazz was a homecoming of sorts for current Bulls Carlos Boozer, Kyle Korver and Ronnie Brewer, who all traded in the Jazz's colors for Chicago red during the offseason. Boozer wound up being outplayed by his replacement, Paul Millsap, but the Bulls corrected their defensive lapses of the previous two losses and avoided their first three-game losing streak of the season with a 91-86 victory. Derrick Rose scored 29 points and dished out 7 assists while being shadowed by the bigger Deron Williams on both ends of the court. Boozer added 14 points and 6 rebounds.
Rose Takes In Premiership Match
We shared photos from the Bulls' practice session yesterday and today we've got a few more shots of the Bulls having fun in London ahead of today's match-up with the Utah Jazz. Bulls star Derrick Rose joined Jazz players Mehmet Okur and Andrei Kirilenko (and friends) at this weekend's Chelsea-Liverpool Premiership game. For those interested, the game tips off at 1:30 p.m. Chicago time; it's only being carried on NBA TV but you can follow the action online at NBA.com.
Bulls Bounce Into Britain
Like their hockey counter-parts, Chicago's NBA team is getting their season started with a a little European jaunt. Tomorrow night, the Bulls take on the Utah Jazz in a preseason game at London's O2 Arena. The team is already there and settling for the game tomorrow night, though both Derrick Rose and Tyrus Thomas could sit out, according to coach Vinny del Negro.
Snatching Defeat From the Jaws of Victory
Before the start of the NBA season, Chicagoist actually thought the Bulls would be comparable to last year's surprising 47-35 team. Boy were we wrong! Whereas last year's team regularly scraped and clawed to overcome early defecits and win games they had no business winning, this year's team has been following the opposite script. Monday night's loss to the Utah Jazz saw the Bulls give away the game not once, but twice. They jumped out...
Can Anyone Say Playoffs?
At the outset of the NBA season, Chicagoist fearlessly predicted that the Bulls would make the playoffs. Surely, many we were questioning how the Bulls might reach the 37 victories we predicted. Especially when the team started 0-9. But now we don't look so wrong, do we?
