The memories from the Westboro Baptist Church protest at the University of Chicago last spring are still fresh in our minds. After going up against the U of C, the church came back for seconds and protested again in Chicago last August. A press release from the church a few weeks ago indicates that the Westboro Baptist Church is making another trip out to Illinois, but this time, they are coming to Naperville.

Another Westboro Baptist Protest Met With Peaceful Counter-Protest
The last time we checked in with those crazy kids at Westboro Baptist Church, they were losing the battle to the awesome counter-protest held at the University of Chicago. Today, the church made a return trip with a busy itinerary that included a stop over at the Don Rickles show and several synagogues, including Emanuel Congregation and Or Chadash in Edgewater. The Edgewater Community Religious Association decided to hold their own peaceful counter-protest. What today's counter-protest at Emanuel lacked in nerd humor it made up for with sincerity and good will. Local social media guru Leah Jones, who happens to be a member at Emmanuel, was there for the protest/counter-protest, taking pictures and wrote up her experience.
