The Obamas are taking more than a mother-in-law with them to the White House. Chicago native chef Sam Kass will be cooking for the first family. Kass served as the Obamas' personal chef at their Hyde Park home and is familiar with what the family enjoys eating. He is known for his interest in healthy, local foods.

Late last week, Audarshia "312 Dining Diva" Townsend wrote of the possibility of a local chef following President-elect Obama to the White House, naming Rick Bayless and Art Smith by name as two prime candidates. Townsend followed this with an anonymous tip in which Bayless asked Smith if he accepted the gig yet. Quoth the Diva:
