The Chicago Cubs have already fled the warm climate of Arizona for the spring and before they head to Houston to open the season on Monday, they made a weekend stop-over in the Big Apple. The reason? The Cubs were specially chosen to help the Yankees christen their new stadium in a pair of exhibition games before the season got into full swing. Next spring, the New York Yankees will take the wraps off their new $1.6 billion stadium and while the Bronx Bombers will host the Cleveland Indians for their official Home Opening Day, the Cubs might actually be the first opponent to take the field in the new park.
