Police in Pleasantville, NJ, pulled a man over because they suspected him of fraud and found live grenades, gas containers, a funnel, WD-40, and several rags in his car. The car, a Toyota Camry, is registered to a man in North Riverside, IL, who may have lived on the north side of Chicago. Also found in the car were several different forms of identification, each with a different name.
Here in Chicago, in response to Attorney General John Ashcroft's announcement Wednesday that terrorists were planning a major attack in the United States this summer, officials assure us that the city is prepared to meet any terror threat. They won't really say what they are doing to prepare the city for a threat, but tell us to go about our daily activities and if we see something suspicious to cal 911.
