Got Beer?

2004_6_goose_island.jpgSo, these 3 dudes from Maryland are sitting around chugging some suds and talking about keeping in touch with their beer buddies when they get this great idea to start a beer drinking team (all ideas sound great when your wasted). So, they decide that they're going to have a convention but that they need a place to have it. Thus began the idea of creating a Beer Hall of Fame... and the guys have selected Chicago as one of the potential host cities.

Chicago already has an official Beer Society but we would love to see the Beer Hall of Fame here. Beer is a working man's drink, and Chicago is a a working man's town. Milwaukee may have a bigger brewery, but beer is undoubtedly a part of Chicago's history. Afterall, Chicago did host the mother of all beer brawls, the Chicago Beer Riots, which lasted 2 days after Mayor Levi Boone ordered that bars be closed on Sundays (gasp!).

The hall of fame would include beer-themed restaurants, a collection of beer memorabilia, Beer Radio broadcasting studios, a music and entertainment venue, an education center, and, of course, an enormous selection of beer. The past part is that the guys also want to have a beer hall of fame where people could nominate their buddies for induction. With the amount of beer that we slug back in any given weekend, our favorite hometown brew being Goose Island's Honkers Ale, Chicagoist is POSITIVE that we would make the list of inductees.
