Chicagoist stumbled upon Bueno the Bear and his comrades a few days ago, and ever since, we’ve sent the link to everyone we know. Sharing the love seemed like the thing to do. Bueno, Giovanni the Giraffe, and Penelope Piddlebug are achingly adorable—the kind of cute you feel right in the ovary. We highly recommend the Forever Comic, especially installments six and seven, but we have to warn you: You’re going to do that annoying thing where you keep making people come over to your computer and laugh and what you’re laughing at. “Isn’t it so cute?” you’ll squeal. But your coworker or roommate won’t understand because he or she didn’t read the whole thing, so they’re going to think you’re lame.

We also really enjoyed the Comicon collection, even though we don’t know anything about anything when it comes to comics. The miscellaneous drawings show a much wider range, from sad to bizarre to still adorable, and are definitely worth clicking through. Pendleton Ward, high five.

UPDATE: Sarah Becan of the quirky and rad Bucket & Dog is dead on: we should be writing about Chicago comics. So, if you have a favorite Chicago-area comic or you are a Chicago-area comic artist, send me an e-mail (margaret at chicagoist dot com). I'll write about as many as I think are cool.
