Game Night

Guthrie'sChicagoist is all for going out to bars and tying one on regularly.. but sometimes we yearn for more. Which is why we are thankful for a new trend at bars: Game Night. Game Night in bars can range from a trivia to board games and prizes may include tickets to events or simply just bragging rights. It may seem nerdy but it's a fun, competitive way to use your brain cells instead of just drinking them away, and it's also a great way to interact with and meet new people. This fad seems to have had a an impact on sales of "adult" board games, which went up 5% in 2003.

Chicagoist has spent more nights than we'd like to admit at Guthrie's playing cards and games while getting our buzz on. We've also had fun having private apartment Game Nights with friends. Some other Chicago bars and cafes that have board games are Gingerman Tavern, Emerald City Coffee, and Hottie Biscotti. We were trying to find some bars that host a Trivia Night, but were having difficulty. It seems that Hidden Cove has a trivia night. Do you know of any more?
