Prior Watch II

The Cubs rotation sure didn't stay complete for very long. Only 4 days after the Cubs activated Kerry Wood from the Disabled List, Mark Prior was forced out of last night's Cubs-Brewers game with discomfort in the back of his right elbow. His 8th start since returning from his achilles injury, Prior could miss the remainder of the season.

Should Prior's ulnar lateral ligament be torn, he'd could face season-ending reconstructive elbow surgery. Prior will undergo an MRI on Friday to determine the extent of the injury. The Cubs were guardedly optimistic on Prior's status, however. There was even talk Prior may be available out of the bullpen this weekend.

Chicagoist hopes it turns out to be nothing. But the Trib should probably dust off those "Prior Watch" graphics just in case.
