Big Week So Far For Motorola

Is it just us or does it seem like there's a lot of shit going down at Schaumburg-based Motorola lately?

Motorola RAZR - Photo: MotoMagazine.comOn Monday they announced a partnership with Apple to create a version of iTunes that will run on their next-generation mobile phones. Next year users will be able to download songs onto their computers and then use a USB or wireless connection to transfer them to their phone.

Then on Tuesday we kept seeing photos of the super sexy new phone, the RAZR V3 flip phone, that Motorola introduced. This phone, with its aircraft-grade aluminum, internal antenna, and chemically-etched keypad, is arguably one of the most advanced styles of any phone designed to date.

Tuesday also brought the announcement of the CN620 phone, which combines Wi-Fi with cellular devices.

But that's not all! This week we also read about how Motorola's new CEO, Edward Zander, runs the company with his Brooklyn street smarts, telling his top execs, "If you don't cooperate and work together, I will kill you," as a way to motivate them. We also read today that Zander had promoted a new strategy officer.

Whew!
