Mancow Drops Suit

Mancow & Smith - Photo: illinoisleader.comMancow announced today that he is dropping his lawsuit against David Smith, the IL listener who filed more than 70 indecency complaints with the FCC since 1998. Mancow said Smith was basically just being a pain in the ass and was trying to cause him financial ruin. Mancow, who of course says he's positive he would have won the suit, says he accomplished his goal because he just wanted to bring attention to Smith's complaints.

At first we wondered why Smith would keep listening if he was so offended by Mancow's show.. then we realized that he's a volunteer for Citizens for Community Values of IL, a group that promotes Judeo-Christian values. Smith says he'll continue to file complaints against any show he believes violates decency standards.

So, show of hands: Who, besides Smith, is actually listening to Mancow? Chicagoist did an informal poll before writing this and the feedback we got from Chicagoans in regard to Mancow were things like "totally stern ripoff, but sucks at it" and "I despise him" and "He's terrible. I don't think I've listened to him in 6-7 years."
