Oprah to Serve on Murder Jury

Oprah Winfrey - Photo: APOprah showed up for court duty yesterday (didn't her hair look cute!?) and was chosen to sit on a jury in a murder case.

In comments to reporters, Oprah suggested that she might not be the best juror and doubted that prosecutors would choose her. "I can have an open mind, but I'm really too opinionated," she said, adding, "If I was on the other side, I wouldn't pick me".

But that's what they did. Prosecutors selected Oprah to hear the case of Deon Coleman, who was charged with fatally shooting a guy in Chicago's West Side in February 2002 in an argument over a counterfeit $50 bill.

Oprah said, “I’m just hoping it doesn’t take longer than a week because I’ve got shows to do.” Uh.. yeh.. God forbid you miss a taping to perform your civic duty!
